Knowledge and attitudes about reproductive health and safe sex practices of high school students in Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province, in 2022

A cross - sectional descriptive study on 1202 students from 3 high schools in Ninh Giang district from October 2021 to November 2022 to describe students’ knowledge and attitudes about reproductive health and safe sex practices. The results showed that: The rate of students with satisfactory knowledge was 69.5% and 73.3% with satisfactory attitudes; The rate of students who had sex was 5.7%, of which 92.7% used condoms. Some factors related to knowledge about reproductive health include: Students at the Vocational and Continuing Education Center (OR = 2.4; 95%CI: 1.7 - 3.5); average academic performance or lower (OR = 1.8; 95%CI: 1.3 - 2.5); first child (OR = 1.4; 95%CI: 1.1 - 1.8) and knowledge (OR = 2.3; 95%CI: 1.8 - 3.0); Some factors related to attitude: men (OR = 1.3; 95%CI: 1.1 - 1.8); studying at the Center for Vocational Education and Continuing Education (OR = 3.7; 95%CI: 2.6 - 5.4); Average academic performance or lower (OR = 2.5; 95%CI: 1.8 - 3.6). The importance of increasing the dissemination of knowledge about reproductive health through official channels with censored content to help children raise awareness about reproductive health.
