Nutritional status and factors related of first-year medical students at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2022

A cross - sectional descriptive study was conducted from November 2021 to May 2022 to determine the nutritional status and related factors of first-year General Medicine students at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The results showed that the mean BMI of male students (20.5 ± 2.8kg/m2) was significantly higher than that of female students (19.8 ± 2.3kg/m2). ) with p < 0.05. The percentage of students lacking energy in the field is 23.4%; overweight – obesity is 6.3%. The rate of overweight - obesity of students is 6.3%. The difference in equilibrium between men and women; between students with exercise habits and non-exercise files is statistically significant with p < 0.05. The prevalence of chronic lack of energy and overweight - obesity among first-year medical students at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy is still high according to the threshold of common assessment in the community according to the World Health Organization.
