Abstract

A cross - sectional descriptive study of 500 students at Dai Duc Junior high school, Kim Thanh district, Hai Duong in 2022 to describe the status of school violence and some related factors. The results showed that 31.8% of students committed acts of violence, of which physical violence was the most common (46.5%); The reasons students gave for violent behavior were defending friends (34.3%) and looking at them with disdain (24.5%). Some factors affecting the implementation of social activities in students were founded such as average and weak academic performance (aOR = 2.02; 95%CI: 1.29 - 3.16), watching violent movies (Aor = 1.79; 95%CI: 1.16 - 2.76). There was still nearly a third of students who committed acts of school violence at Dai Duc secondary school in 2022. To reduce the rate of school violence, schools should develop life skills training programs for students on selfemotion control skills, and conflict resolution skills, especially those with middle school education. average and weak academically.
