A study was conducted in 5 communes of 5 provinces (Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, An Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang) from July to November 2019 to describe results and some related factors of the larvae elimination campaign. The households’ knowledge of symptoms was 34.4%; 64.4% vector tranmission and control mosquitoes and larvae were mainly rinsing (60.8%), chemicals (54.0%), and cleaning up waste (40.8%). Regarding to the effectiveness of controlling Aedes larvae in households after the campaign, BI decreased 28.9%, HI decreased 37% and CI decreased 28%. The risk containner before the campaign were water containers (59%) and after the campaign waste items (44%). The percentage of households had used the protection containners after the campaign is too low: 22.5% cover containners tightly, 7.6% fish. The effectiveness of Dengue preventing campaign was not good as the expectation (BI decreases more than 90% or BI < 20). The management of health staff is not strict and not good in training that factors can affect the effectiveness of controlling larvae.
