Abstract

The cross-sectional descriptive study was
conducted on 392 patients being treated for type 2 diabetes at Le Chan General Hospital, Hai Phong to describe some factors related to the management of blood glucose among type 2 diabetes patients in 2019. The results showed
that. 51.3% of control patients achieved both fasting blood glucose and HbA1c. There were some factors affecting the treatment failure were patients over 70 years old (OR = 4.07 p <0.01); infected time ≥ 5 years (OR = 1.64; p <0.05); no advice on diet (OR = 3.22; p, 0.05) and exercise (OR = 1.76; p <0.05); noncompliance with diet (OR = 1.56; p <0.05), physical activity (OR = 1.69; p <0.05) and noncompliance with drugs (OR = 6.45, p <0.01). An association between blood sugar control and factors such as: gender, blood pressure, cholesterol, BMI, waist circumference, waist circumference/waistline, complications of the disease, hypertension and dyslipidemia was not found.
