Abstract

The reality of school violence is becoming more and more complicated. This research was conducted to describe violence among students in a secondary school in Hue City. This is a cross-sectional study conducted on a total of 389 students in a secondary school. Data were collected from 11/2018 to 12/2018. We used a self-flled questionnaire to research the reality of school violence. The study shows that 29.0% of the students have been the victims of school violence. Physical violence, verbal violence, social violence, and cyber violence account for 18.3%, 25.2%, 19.8%, and 13.9% of all violence, respectively. The most common location of violence is in the classroom (65.5%) and the majority of students do nothing when they are victimized (57.5%). There is a high rate of school violence at secondary school. It is necessary to design education solutions that
effectively coordinate among family, school, and society while strengthening the protection of children’s rights in Viet Nam.
