A cross-sectional study was carried out of 90 households in 3 communes, wards in Nha Trang city from August 2018 to May 2019 in order to determine the effectiveness in Aedes mosquito collection of GAT trap compared to aspirator machine. The results showed that the number of Aedes females mosquito collected by the GAT traps was 1.5 times higher than that collected by the aspirator (2.671/1.086) for Ae. aegypti and 29.3 times (575/19) for Ae. albopictus. The average density and houses index for Ae. aegypti mosquito collected by GAT traps were 0.76 ± 0.38/house and 32.1±10.2 (%), for Ae. albopictus were 0.16±0.12/house and 10.7±6.1 (%). Meanwhile, for aspirator machine, these index were 0.31±0.22/house and 17.3±10.2 (%) for Ae. Aegypti; 0.005±0.01/house and 0.5±0.9 (%) for Ae. albopictus. These fding hightlight that GAT traps are highly effective in monitoring Aedes mosquito population in Nha Trang. Take in to account the correlation between GAT and using aspirator machine, it is needed to evaluating the effective of GAT trap in different areas in order to recommend the Ministry of Health using GAT traps for dengue vector surveillance is needed
