Abstract

The research was carried out to describe the opinion of people about the harmful effects of salty food and salt reduction practices and its associated factors in 2019. Data were collected among 1193 people in 4 provinces. There was 91% respondents reported that eating too much salt could cause harm for their health; from 54.7 to 85.3% respondents reported
that eating too much salt could cause some specifc disease; 78.2 to 84.3% respondents practiced some salt reduction behaviors and 58.2% of respondents practiced all four salt intake reduction behaviors; people who had an opinion that eating salty food was harmful to health practiced of reducing salty food 6.8 times more likely than those who thought that eating salty food is not harmful to health. It is necessary to carry out communication for people about specifc harms of salty food to the health and guide salt reduction behaviors.
