Abstract

Non - adherence to TB treatment is associated with increased rates of transmission and morbidity, which is a major cause of TB relapse and drug resistance. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 205 patients to determine the rate of adherence with
TB treatment, describe the management of treatment adherence and some related factors in Chau Thanh district, Soc Trang province from 1/2022 to 7/2022. The results showed that adherence to treatment accounted for 85.4%. The factors related to treatment adherence were knowledge of TB treatment (OR = 10,712, p < 0.0001) and TB drug side effects (OR = 6.115, p = 0.001). The contents of treatment management are at a satisfactory level: human resources, plans, district - commune coordination,
consultation process, treatment management, records, reports, medical records, treatment results and support policies. patient assistance. Unsatisfactory management activities: using data management software, control testing and treatment monitoring. Conclusion: The rate of adherence to TB treatment is relatively high. TB management in Chau Thanh district, Soc Trang province achieved good results. Health education, combined with measures to reduce side effects of anti-TB drugs will help increase
the rate of treatment adherence in TB patients.
