Management situation of type 2 diabetes patients at Le Chan General Hospital, Hai Phong in 2019

This study aims to describe management
situation of type 2 diabetes patients at Le Chan General Hospital, Hai Phong in 2019. The results showed that in 392 patients participating in the study, there were 144 male patients (accounting for 36.7%) and 248 female patients (accounting for 63.3%), with an average age of 66.2± 8.7 years old, average BMI was 22,7±2,4 (kg/m2). There are 68.6% of patients with hypertension, 57.4% have dyslipidemia. There were 53.7% of patients had complications of
diabetes. Patients adhere to the pathological diet (62.2%), physical activity (72.7%), and adherence to drug treatment (71.0%). 58.2% of control patients achieved the target with fasting blood glucose and 55.6% of control patients achieved the target with HbA1c. It is necessary to strengthen counseling for patients on adherence to drug therapy, diet and physical activity, especially for elderly patients with years of illness.
