Across - sectional study aimed to describes the current status of mental health problems and some associated factors in COVID-19 pandemic context among high school students in Hanoi, 2020. A total of 1517 10-12th grade students at Kim Lien high school and Dong Anh high school enrolled in this study. The results of this cross-sectional study suggested that 6.8% and 17.3% of the sampled student at Kim Lien and Dong Anh high school had a tendency to have psychological problems, respectively. Multivariate logistic regression fgured that mental health problems were signifcantly related to grade and family economic status. 11th grade had a lower risk of having a general mental health problem than 10th grade (OR = 0.45, 95% CI: 0.29 - 0.68), the students whose family economic status was decreased during an epidemic had a 2.65 times higher risk for
having a general mental health problem (OR = 2.65, 95% CI: 1.88 - 3.72) compared with students who had stable family economic status during COVID-19 pandemic context. Base on the results of this study, the government should have effective interventions to address this problem for high school students, especially in the COVID-19 pandemic context.
