Abstract

A study aims to identify IgG antibody level against Diphtheria Toxoid after 5 years vaccinated with Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td) vaccination among children aged 6 - 25 years in KonPlong, Kon Tum province in 2021. EnzymeLinked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) was used to quantity the diphtheria antibodies in sera of vaccinated group. The results showed that in total of 128 individuals followed up after 5 years of Td vaccination, 92.70% subjects had remained antibody protection. Of which, 2.40% was basic protection and 89.80% was the full protection. The protection level found in persons aged 6 - 10 and 11 - 15 was 94.60% and 96.70%; respectively, then decreased in older age groups. The full protection level decreased significantly in persons aged 16 - 20 and 21 - 25 with 85.70% and 72.70%; respectively. The results are significantly to propose suitable interventional programs for diferent age groups for controlling and preventing of diphtheria in Kon Tum province and Tay Nguyen region in the future.
