Abstract

A retrospective study on dengue fever in the Central Highlands region with the data was collected from surveillance reports of Tay Nguyen Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and four Provincial Centers for Disease Control to describe the Dengue fever situation in the region from 2000 through 2020. The findings showed 132,247 Dengue cases and 32 deaths had been reported from the Central Highlands region during 2000 - 2020. The number of Dengue cases from Dak Lak and Gia Lai province was greater than the rest two provinces. The Dengue cases had been increasing year by year. The outbreaks of Dengue fever was recorded in 2010, 2016, and 2019 in the region. The Dengue cases were reported in almost
months within the year; however, the rainy season had more cases than the dry season. The peak of Dengue fever cases was often reported from August to October in the region.
