Quinolones are an antibacterial agent that is used to treat illnesses caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria. Quinolone resistance has emerged as a significant public health concern. Therefore, we conducted a cross - sectional descriptive study using electronic medical data from Hai Phong International General Hospital to characterize quinolone antibiotic resistance in several common microorganisms. From 2020 to 2021, we analyzed 1832 test results of microbiological specimens made with quinolones and discovered that the most common bacteria detected at Hai Phong International General Hospital were Escherichia coli (33.7%), Streptococcus group B (13.7%), and Haemophilus influenzae (9.1%). According to our findings, Escherichia coli was resistant to ciprofloxacin in 48.8% of cases and levofloxacin in 47.2 % of cases. The findings of the study revealed information on quinolone antibiotic resistance in common hospital - acquired bacteria, which doctors can use to help them choose and use safe and effective medications.
