The situation of sleep quality in medical students of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2020

Medical students are considered to be
particularly susceptible to sleep problems due to academic pressures as well as the particularities of medical students while practicing at hospitals. This study aims to describe the situation of sleep quality in medical students of Hai Phong university of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2020.
A cross-section study of 407 medical students at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the result showed that poor sleep quality of students was 44.5%. The highest rate of poor sleep quality was found in 3rd-year students (63.1%). The rate of poor quality was
lowest in blocks 2nd-year student (36.7%) and freshman (38.7%). The average students sleep time per night was 6.2 hours. And the lowest in 3rd-year students was 6.2 hours. The research results showed that the school needs to pay more
attention to the learning and resting regime of medical students in all grades, especially 3rdyear students to help improve the quality of sleep of students.
