In this study, we aimed to determine the prevalence of dyslipidemia, and describe the relationship between overweight/obesity and dyslipidemia in an adult population in community of Dak Lak province. A community-based cross-sectional study was performed from March 2019 to January 2020. The study involved 2089 subjects selected through a multistage sampling method. We used a designed questionnaire to collect required data from the subjects through interview, physical examination, and blood test. The logistic regression analysis was used to determine the relationship between dyslipidemia and overweight/obesity. Of the 2089 study subjects, the prevalence of dyslipidemia was 43.2%. The prevalence of undiagnosed dyslipidemia was very high (86.7%). The logistic regression analysis showed that overweight/obesity was independently associated with an increased risk of dyslipidemia (OR = 1.64; 95% CI: 1.28 - 2.10; p < 0.001). In conclusion, the prevalence of dyslipidemia in an adult population in Dak Lak province is high, especially undiagnosed dyslipidemia. Overweight/obesity is independently associated with an increased risk of dyslipidemia.
