IgG antibody level against Diphtheria Toxoid in health population in Kon Tum City, Kon Tum province in 2020

A study was performed to identifve IgG antibody level against Diphtheria Toxoid in health population in Kon Tum City, Kon
Tum province in 2020. Using enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) to quantity the diphtheria antibodies in sea. The results showed that in total of 669 individuals, 30.6% was unprotected, 8.7% was the basic protection, and 60.7% was the full protection. The protection level found in children aged 0 - 10 was 66.4%, then decreased in adults. The full protection level increased signifcantly in persons aged 51 – 60 and > 60 with 64.0% and 70.5%; respectively. A signifcant difference in seroprotection prevalence was obsserved in education level, occupation and history of diphtheria vaccination. However, no signifcant difference in seroprotection prevalence was found according to gender, ethnicity, age groups and settlements. The results are sientifc to propose compulsory immunizations programs suitable interventional methods for controlling and preventing of diphtheria in Kon Tum province and Tay Nguyen region in the future.
