A cross - sectional study was conducted on 151 nurses working at healthcare facilities in Phu Tho province from February to August 2024 to identify the prevalence of occupational stress and related factors. Stress levels were assessed using the Expended Nursing Stress Scale (ENSS) with 54 questions divided into 8 domains. Results showed that 67.5% of nurses experienced stress. Nurses under 30 years old had a 3.1 times higher risk of occupational stress than those aged 30 and over (95%CI: 1.004 - 9.82); nurses currently caring for young children had a 5.89 times higher risk of stress than those who do not have to care for young children (95%CI: 1.86 - 18.67); nurses living in private homes with their families had a 0.17 times higher risk of stress than those living in rented accommodation (95%CI: 0.04 - 0.8); nurses with ≤ 10 years of experience had a 2.79 times higher risk of stress than those with over 10 years of experience (95%CI: 1.02 - 7.59); nurses with an average monthly income of less than 10 million VND had a 2.43 times higher risk of stress than the group with an income of 10 to 20 million VND (95%CI: 1.08 - 5.46); nurses caring for 10 to 20 patients had a 2.94 times higher risk of stress (95%CI: 1.04 - 8.32); nurses caring for more than 20 patients had a 3.23 times higher risk of stress than the group caring for less than 10 patients (95%CI: 1.23 - 8.51). Appropriate stress prevention and treatment measures should be implemented for each group nurse, while also conducting early screening for healthcare staff at risk of or showing signs of stress.
