Abstract

Currently, assessing the experience of outpatients is aimed at providing health care with the goal of “patient-centered”. A cross-sectional study of 760 outpatients at 19 district-level hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023 aimed to determine the rate of positive experiences in outpatients and some related factors. The results showed that the overall rate of positive experiences was 89.34%. Through multivariate logistic regression analysis, compared to the group over 80 years old, positive experiences in the group of 18 - 40 years old were 7.79 times higher, the group of 40 - 60 years old was 16.08 times higher and the group of 60 - 80 years old was 7.39 times higher. Positive experiences in men were 2.31 times higher than in women. Compared to the group with postgraduate education, positive experiences in the group of junior high school were 3.87 times higher and the group of high school were 3.31 times higher. Patients who are satisfied with the service have a 35.75 times higher positive experience than those who are dissatisfied. Outpatient experience results provide a lot of information to help managers know where to focus resources for improvement.
