A cross - sectional descriptive study on 240 people with type 2 diabetes treated as outpatients at My Hao Medical Center, Hung Yen, in 2023 by interviewing to describe the factors related to adherence treatment of type 2 diabetes patients. Research results showed that 72.9% of diabetic patients adhere to a nutritional regimen, 77.5% adhere to physical exercise, adherence to medication treatment accounted for 79.2%, and adherence with follow-up examinations accounted for 93.8%. Diabetic patients with overall adherence treatment accounted for 56.2%. Some factors related to non-adherence to treatment were found in the group aged 60 years and over (OR = 1.69; 95%CI: 1.00 - 2.87), the group with an education level of primary and secondary school (OR = 3.51; 95%CI: 1.25 - 9.91), agricultural group (OR = 3.33; 95%CI: 1.63 - 6.81) and ever experienced side effects of the drug (OR = 2.88; 95%CI: 1.38 - 6.01), with p < 0.05. The District Health Center needs to pay more attention to patients aged 60 and over, people with less than a high school education, and people who have experienced side effects of drugs in consulting and communication work to improve treatment adherence to limit complications of diabetes.
