The study aimed to describe some characteristics of the frequency, morbidity and mortality trends of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Khanh Hoa province from January 1998 to December 2022. The results showed that there were a total of 94,421 cases and 46 deaths in Khanh Hoa province during 1998- 2022. The morbidity rate of DHF per 100,000 people was highest in 2019 (928.5/100,000
people), and lowest in 2017 (11.8/100,000 people). The highest mortality rate was in 1998 (0.59/100,000 people), in the remaining years this rate ranged from 0.0 to 0.43/100,000 people. The mortality rate/number of dengue infections ranged from 0.0% to 0.25%, with up to 16/25 years of deaths due to dengue. The morbidity rate of DHF per 100,000 people increased statistical significance in the period 2000-2022 with an annual increase of 7.76% (95% CI: 3.77% ÷ 34.92%). The mortality rate/100,000 people tended to decrease (but not clearly) with an annual decrease of -2.79% (95%CI: -7.22% ÷ 1.42%). Research results showed that the morbidity rate per 100,000 people tended to increase. It is necessary to further strengthen the prevention of DHF and reduce the mortality rate.
