A cross - sectional study was conducted from 10/2020 to 12/2020 on 1843 subjects aged 40 and above in 30 selected communes using a multi - stage cluster sampling method in Tra Vinh province, aiming to determine the prevalence of individuals with positive occult blood test results and associated factors among the Khmer population in the southern part of Tra Vinh province. The results showed that the proportion of study subjects with positive screening tests for colorectal pathology was 10.9%. Factors such as age, physical activity, consumption of fruits and vegetables, frequency of red meat consumption, frequency of fried/stir - fried food intake, and frequency of grilled meat consumption were found to be correlated and increased the risk of colorectal cancer. Accurate assessment of risk behaviors is necessary and an important prerequisite for community - based intervention programs aiming to change behaviors.
