Abstract

A cross - sectional study was conducted among 281 women at reproductive age from 18 – 49 in Dien Bien from 9/2018 - 3/2019 to describe their knowledge of hepatitis B and the vaccination. As the results, the rate of general knowledge of hepatitis B among the participants was 53%. It was identified an equivalent relationship between the rates of knowledge at some aspects of hepatitis B, including transmission routes, preventive measures and vaccination schedule, and the urbanization levels of the residence. Specifically, in the city, the town, and the moutainous countryside, the rates were 75.8%, 60.9%, and 24.5% respectively. Ethnic (H’mong) and education factors (High school and higher) were those which significantly affected to the general knowledge of hepatitis B. In conclusion, the level of knowledge of hepatitis B and the vaccination among women at reproductive age in Dien Bien remained low.
