Abstract

A cross - sectional study conducted on 400 patients, during the study period from March 2022 to December 2022 aimed to describe management of patients with type 2 diabetes at Nam Sach medical center, Hai Duong in 2022. Information was collected through faceto-face interviews and extracted from patients’ medical records. Research results showed that the average age of patients was 65.98 ± 10.23 years old; the proportion of men was 55.5%, women were 44.5%; the mean duration of disease was 6.70 ± 5.85 years. The rate of patients with on-time re-examination was 88.2%; the percentages of patients who adhere to the pathological diet, physical activity and adherence to drug treatment were 90.5%, 86.8% and 57.0%, respectively. The proportion of patients who achieved the treatment target with fasting blood glucose; HbA1c were 51.5%, and 36.8% respectively; and the percentage of treated patients reaching the target of both fasting blood glucose and HbA1c was 25.8%. The percentage of patients reaching the treatment goals of both fasting blood glucose and HbA1c is very low, so medical staff should advise patients to adhere to a pathological diet.
