COVID-19 is still a global public health problem and vaccine coverage is one of the effective prevention measures. The present study sought to describe the rate of COVID-19 vaccination in Long An province from March, 2021 to December, 2022 and evaluate the correlation between the rate of COVID-19 vaccination and human resources for health. Data were collected from the reports of Department of Health of Long An on vaccination rate of COVID-19 distribution by district from March 2021 to December 2022 and human resources for health at commune and district levels. The results show that the average rate of COVID-19 vaccination of 1st dose were 100%; 2nd dose were 99% ± 1; 3rd dose were 78% ± 6 and 4th dose were 44% ± 9.2. The rate of vaccination against COVID-19 were a strong statistically significant correlation with the number of commune health workers: 1st dose (r = 0.85; CI95%: 0.60 - 0.95), 2nd dose (r = 0.86; CI 95%: 0.62 - 0.95), 3rd dose (r = 0.86; CI95%: 0.63 - 0.95) and 4th dose (r = 0.75; 95% CI: 0.40 - 0.91). Health human resources at the commune level play an important role in COVID-19 vaccination. Authorities should to pay more attention to commune health for the health target programs to achieve good results and there need to be more in-depth researchs on factors affecting the vaccine coverage rate in the community.
