The research was conducted to evaluate the Aedes mosquito control effectiveness of two chemical spraying methods in the treatment of dengue fever outbreaks from May 2018 to April 2019 in 8 communes of the Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province. Thermal fogging used Swingfog SN50, the solvent was diesel. -ULV spraying used Fontan, the solvent was water. The effectiveness of the two methods of spraying with two chemicals was determined based on the mosquito density index before, after spraying and the mosquito death rate after 24 hours with lab mosquitoes. The household interview was used to evaluate the safety and
effectiveness of the spray method. The results showed that with field mosquitoes, the mosquito control effect was not much different when spraying two chemicals by ULV spraying and thermal fogging (Hantox: 43%, 36%; Han-pec: 38%, 23%); with laboratory mosquitoes, ULV spraying with two chemicals both had higher effectiveness against mosquitoes than thermal fogging. The percentage of people agreeing to spray thermal fogging was 90% and continuing to use this method was 93%. It concludes that the two spraying methods are equally effective and accepted by the community.
