A cross sectional study was conducted to describe the dengue situation in Khanh Hoa Province in the period of 2000 - 2019. The results indicated dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a circulating disease that is showing rapid expansion. Khanh Hoa is one of 10 provinces in Vietnam that have highest incidence rate of dengue cases per 100,000 populations. The data also showed significantly decrease of mortality rate, from 0.13% in 2000 to 0.02% in 2019. The successive waves and epidemiology characteristics of DHF had different magnitude. Annual seasonal nature of disease usually peaked in July, between November to December and prolonged till next year January. DHF represented in 8/9 districts of the province, except Truong Sa island, mainly in crowed and urban areas. There were 2 types of DHF in which severe dengue accounted less than 1% per year. Most infected age group from > 15 years old - 55% of dengue cases. All four serotypes were circulating in period from 2012 - 2016, there were no DEN-3 type since 2017. Primary dengue vector was Aedes aegypti, Breteau index and density index increased from May to December annually. Vector indices were peaked around 1 month before the peak of dengue outbreaks. It is necessary to strengthen the surveillance of dengue cases, vectors and viruses to proactively predict and timely responds.
