Carbapenems are a class of antibacterial agents specifically for infections caused by multidrug-resistant microorganisms. The emergence of carbapenem resistance has become a serious public health threat. Through analysis of 1039 test results of microbiological specimens that were subjected to antibiotic mapping with the carbapenem group from 2020 to 2021 in order to describe some characteristics of carbapenem antibiotic resistance of some typical bacteria. The research results showed that the main bacteria isolated at Hai Phong International General Hospital were Escherichia coli with 57.84%, followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Our study showed that the carbapenem susceptibility rate was quite high from 77% to 98% of 3 typical bacteria including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The study results provided data on carbapenem antibiotic resistance of typical hospital-acquired bacteria to assist physicians in selecting and using safe and effective antibiotics.
