Results showed that 87.7% of outpatients with type 2 diabetes adhered to medication. Of the total 64 patients who forgot to take the medicine, 71.9% of the subjects forgot to take the medicine; 4.7% of patients forgot the injection; 23.4% of patients forgot both oral and injectable drugs. The main reasons why subjects forgot to take their medication were: busyness and simply forgetting. Only 1 patient quit smoking because he switched to using functional foods. From the research results, we recommend strengthening specific guidance and counseling on treatment adherence for people with diabetes.
