Abstract

Malnutrition in children is a community
disease in many developing countries, including Vietnam. The cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 1,381 pupils at Le Quy Don High School, Hai An District, Hai Phong City in 2019 in order to describe stunting status and some factors related to in the pupils. Evaluate nutritional status used anthropometric methods
by measuring the height and weight of pupils. Other information was collected using predesigned questionnaires. The results showed that the proportion of stunting in students was 6.4%, of which 0.6% was severe malnutrition and 5.8% was moderate malnutrition. The rate
of stunting in boys is higher than that of girls (6.6% and 6.1%) but not statistically difference. The school should strengthen communication to pupils, pay special attention to stunting pupils so that they know how to regularly monitor their own weight, from which there is a direction for timely adjustment.
