To find out the glycemic index (GI) of a medical nutritional product (MNP) - Nutridream Soya. The study followed the method of determining the food GI according to the National Standard TCVN10036: 2013. 12 subjects were served with 125 ml glucose 20% on two occasions, and twice with MNP containing soluble and insoluble fiber providing an equal amount of available carbohydrate of 25g, every three days. Blood glucose levels are monitored continuously with Freestyle Libre. The result showed that the glycemic index is 40.21 ± 4.85; so that is categorized as low GI food, a GI value of 40. This is one of so the result GI of the MNP in this study is one of the best choice foods for preventing NCDs, and it would be a promising product in controlling postprandial blood glucose for patients in Vietnam.
