A cross - sectional study on 786 10th and 11th-grade students was conducted to describe the prevalence of tobacco and electronic cigarette use among students in Hai Phong city, aiming to determine the rates of cigarette smoking, e-cigarette use, and some associated factors. The study revealed that the prevalence of cigarette smoking among students was 4.5%, while the prevalence of e-cigarette use was 6.9%. Students predominantly smoked cigarettes and used e-cigarettes in public places, with the majority consuming 1 - 5 cigarettes per day and 11 - 30 drops of e-liquid per day (equivalent to 0.5 - 1.5ml of e-liquid per day). The primary reasons for cigarette and e-cigarette use were curiosity and imitation (62.86% and 66.04%, respectively). Risk factors associated with smoking behavior among students included being male, having
smoking peers or family members, as well as academic performance and conduct.
