The study was to describe awareness of dementia and describe some factors related to awareness of dementia of community people in some provinces/cities in Vietnam in 2021. A cross-sectional descriptive study with a multi-stage sampling of over 440 people aged 50 and over. The proportion of people in the community who are worried about having dementia is 6.6%, and the proportion of people who are very worried if they have dementia disease is 6.1%. People have the highest awareness of benefits at 9 out of 12 points and the lowest awareness of barriers at 8.8 out of 20 points. The results of 4 multivariable logistic regression analysis models show that people who have an education level of high school or higher; married people; no religion, people knowing someone with dementia and who will be screened for dementia are factors related to awareness of dementia. Recommendations from the research results show that it is necessary to provide health communication to raise awareness of people in the community about dementia so that they can increase their
awareness of the risks and severity of dementia, helping them proactively detect and prevent the dementia as soon as possible.
