Measles is a highly contagious, predominantly pediatric viral infection caused by measles virus, usually transmitted in communities with low immunity to the measles virus, in children who have not or have not received a full dose of measles vaccine. The measles virus has 24 genotypes belonging to 8 gene groups (symbols A-H). In this study, we conducted genotypic analysis of measles samples collected in Dak Lak and Dak Nong in 2019. Based on the database of sequencing the N-450 region of the nucleocapsid protein, 13/14 patient samples identified as positive by RT-PCR were clustered within clade D and belong to the genotype D8 group. Using phylogenetic analysis with measles reference sequences by MEGA 7.0.26 software, the genotype D8 of 13 measles virus samples in the same cluster of genotype D8 in Ha Giang, Thanh Hoa and Kon Tum provinces.
