A cross-sectional study was conducted among 271 children aged 5, 6, 7 years old in Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province in 2020 in order to determine the proportion of these children with antibody concentrations reaching the protective threshold for measles. The results showed that 100% the children had protective antibodies to prevent measles (IgG concentration ≥200 mIU/ ml), IgG antibody concentration ranged from 522 mIU/ml to 1,740.5 mIU/ml, the geometric mean (GMC) of measles IgG antibody concentrations was 1,132.3 mIU/ml, of which 76% achieved high antibodies level (IgG concentration ≥1,000 mIU/ml). Children who have been vaccinated with 2 doses of measles-containing vaccines have a higher rate of high antibodies level than children who have not been vaccinated or partial vaccinated. All young children should be vaccinated with two doses of measles vaccine, and checked their immunization history for mopping up missed doses.
