Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of intervention to improve people’s satisfaction in using health insurance examination and treatment services at commune health station using a randomized controlled trial design in Mai Chau intervention district and Tan Lac control district, Hoa Binh province in 2018- 2019. By using the difference - in - differences (DD) analyzing method, the study had reported a signinficant effectiveness of the intervention, the satisfaction rate of health insurance examination and treatment services of people after the intervention increased to 8.59%, the DD index was 6.23% (p < 0.05). The residents in the intervened communes showed a statistically significant increases in their satisfaction scores, in which facilities increased 6.92 score, trust in commune health stations increased 6.2 score, professional qualifications of commune health station staff increased 6 score, In terms of procedures, the process of medical examination and treatment increased 5.84 score, communication and consultation of commune health stations increased 6.39 score. Overall satisfaction scores across all 5 factor groups increased to 6.08 score compared to people in communes not receiving the intervention (p < 0.01).
