The study aimed to determine the prevalence of HIV and syphilis and describe some factors related to the risk of HIV infection among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Khanh Hoa province in 2020. A cross - sectional descriptive study method was used among 150 MSM. The results showed that the HIV prevalence rate in the group was 12%, higher than that of some provinces and cities that implemented HIV sentinel surveillance in 2020. The prevalence of syphilis in the MSM group was 8% and co-infection was 2.7%. There was a statistically significant relationship between the age group of 25 - 34 (OR = 6.4; 95% CI 1.0 - 41.9), education from Intermediate level or higher (OR = 9.7; 95%). CI 1.8 - 51.1) and syphilis (OR = 4.1; 95% CI 0.9 - 17.9) with risk of HIV infection. Further research is needed in the MSM group, focusing on young and middleaged people and the MSM group who are students of intermediate schools, colleges and universities. At the same time, it is necessary to maintain and comprehensively implement HIV prevention interventions in the province.
