Vietnam was accredited Polio Eradication in 2000. However, it is necessary to continue to perform increasing vaccination and surveilance Poliomyelitis until achieving Global Polio Eradication. Poliomyelitis is usually found through Accute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) syndromes. Beside poliovirus, other NPEV
can cause AFP. The purpose of this research is to detect pathogenic agents that caused AFP related to Non - Polio Enterovirus (NPEV) in Southern region, and some provinces in Middle and Tay Nguyen region from 2010 to 2021. Stool samples from 2143 patients were collected and diagnosed based on WHO standard. The results, from 2010 to 2021, showed that the percentage of AFP cause by NPEV (11.62%) was significantly high. Among NPEV, EV71 had relatively high ratio (26.9%). Therefore, beside surveilling AFP caused by poliovirus, it is important to notice other NPEV pathogens, especially EV71.
