Knowledge and practice on colorectal cancer prevention and related factors in Southern Khmer people in Tra Cu district, Tra Vinh province in 2021

Colorectal cancer is a disease that causes severe consequences, leaving a lot of disease burden, reducing quality of life or causing death. A sectional - cross study was conducted from Jan 1st 2021 to May 30th 2021 on 340 Khmer people in the South of Vietnam at Tra Cu ward, Tra Vinh province, using method face-to-face interview to describe knowledge, practice and its related factors. The percentage of people with correct general knowledge
about colorectal cancer prevention is 13.5% and the percentage of people with correct general practice is 57.4%. High school and above education level have higher knowledge about colorectal cancer prevention than lower education level such as secondary or primary school (p < 0.05). Government employees and housewife have higher practice about colorectal cancer prevention than farmer, small business and freelancers. It is necesssary to improve knowledge and practice of Khmer people in the South of Vietnam at Tra Cu ward, Tra Vinh province and need further study.
