Status of soil - transmitted worm infection and some related factors in ethnic minority women aged 15 - 49 years old in Dak Wil commune, Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province, in 2021

The study was carried out to describe the
status of soil - transmitted worm infection and
analyze some factors related to soil-transmitted
worm infection in ethnic minority women aged
15 - 49 years old in Dak Wil commune, Cu Jut
district, Dak Nong province, 2021. Applying a
cross-sectional descriptive study design with
309 ethnic minority women aged 15 - 49 years
old in Dak Wil commune, Cu Jut district, Dak
Nong province. Data collection methods were
direct interview, observation, and Kato - Katz
stool test to diagnose soil-borne worm diseases.
Study results: The overall worm infection rate
was 33.33% (28.47% single infection and
4.86% multiple worm infection), the rate of
hookworm infection was the highest (18.44%),
the lowest was hairworm (6.14%). 89.81%
of the respondents had general knowledge on
combating traffickers that was not successful.
The practice of preventing soil - transmitted
worm infection has not been achieved,
accounting for 27.18%. Factors related to
infection with soil-transmitted worm infection:
Age group, education level, population Dao
ethnic group, do not use latrines, Unhygienic
latrines, no frequently wash hands before
eating, after going to the toilet, without using
labor protection, not taking regular deworming
drugs.
