The study analyzed data related to drug use of Hai Phong International General Hospital in 2020 to describe problems associated with the development of drug listings and supply at the hospital through analytical methods of ABC / VEN and indexes of drug use. The results showed that 824 drugs were used in the hospital. Of which, 49 pills (5.95%) were classifed
in group A but accounted for 58.3% of the total cost of using drugs, 45 drugs (5.46%) of group B accounted for 22.4% of the total cost of operating. Drugs, the remaining 730 drugs (88.59%) of group C only account for 19.3% of the total drug use costs in the hospital. ABC / VEN matrix analysis, type I drug has 445 drugs (54%), type II has 187 drugs (accounts for 22.69%) and type III has 192 drugs (accounts for 23.30%). The study also shows that the group of antibiotics is the group that accounts
for the highest proportion of the total cost (27.1%) and the ratio of prescribing antibiotics is 35.3%, so special attention should be paid to this group to improve improve the hospital’s drug use. The hospital’s other indicators of drug use are quite positive.
