Situation of medical solid waste management at Hai Phong Psychiatric Hospital in 2020

Abstract

A cross-sectional study aimed to describe the situation of medical solid waste at Haiphong Psychiatric Hospital in 2020. Results showed that the human resource related to medical solid waste management complied with guidance of authorities, however, there was still a lack of documents. The total amount of solid waste was 89.3kg/month with 18.3 kg dangerous medical solid waste/month. The solid waste storage place did not meet standards. The hospital needs to supply the remaining documents and improve the storage place in accordance with the provisions of Circular No. 58/2015 / TTLTBYT-BTNMT. Enhancing the inspection and supervision of health workers in medical waste management is necessary.
