The situation of sanitary and hygiene conditions at the kitchens of kindergarten in Ngo Quyen district, Hai Phong in 2016

This study aimed to describe the sanitary
and hygiene conditions at the kindergartens in Ngo Quyen district, Hai Phong in 2016. A cross-sectional study was conducted in 75 kindergarten kitchens in Ngo Quyen in 2016. The data was collected by the sanitary survey checklist. Results showed that almost all catering services had a satisfactory hygiene level (70-100%). Some aspects had not reached satisfactory hygiene level such as having equipped with cleaning facilities, hygiene during food processing and preservation. Overall assessment of each food safety condition showed that the standards for hygiene
of tools was highest (97.3%), but common
standards with infrastructure (24.0%) and
the sanitation in processing and preservation (33.3%) were still very low. The percentage of kitchens achieving food safety requirements was exceptionally low in the whole group that already has a certifcate of food safety eligibility. It is necessary to strengthen communication,
inspection and supervision for the kindergarten kitchens to improve and maintain sanitary conditions during operation.
