Abstract

This study aims to describe the nutritional
status of 240 patients and the diatery intake of 50 diabetic outpatients at Hai Phong Medical University Hospital in 2020. Results showed that, the percentage of overweight and obesity accounted for 42.9% (in which, overweight and obesity level 1 were 29.2% and 13.7% respectively). Over than half (55.8%) remained in normal nutritional status while malnourished
patients reached the lowest percentage
(1.3%). The average BMI was 22.8 ± 2.0 kg/
m2. Average waist circumference for female and male presented 80.3 ± 6.8 cm and 84.7 ± 6.5 cm respectively, the waist-hip ratio was 86.2%. In fact, the daily calorie intake was 1867.6 ± 370.2 kcal per day. The proportions of proteins: lipids: carbonhydrates were 19.4: 26.3: 54.3 respectively, it is not balanced by
the Recommened dietary allowance (RDA)
for Vietnamese people. Vitamins and mineral such as calci, iron, zinc, vitamin C and B-group vitamins have met RDA, vitamin A has not met the RDA.
