Abstract

The working environment has many occupational risk factors will greatly affect the health of workers. The study was conducted to aim at describing the situation of working environment in some factories of Thai Nguyen Steel company in 2019. This was a crosssectional study with 87 samples for each element at 5 factories: Luu Xa Rolling Steel Factory, Luu
Xa Steel Making Plant, Tien Bo Iron Mine, Trai Cau Iron Mine, Thai Nguyen Cast Iron Making Factory at Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel joint stock Corporation. The research results showed that the average temperature at 5 plants exceeded permissible limits (compared with Vietnam standards 5508: 2009). Noise and lighting in factories also exceeded permissible limits. Other factors such as dust, toxic gas, and humidity were all lower than the permissible limits. Conclusion: microclimate, toxic gas, humidity in some companies in Thai Nguyen were under permissible limits, except for temperature, noise and air velocity.
