Influenza is a disease with a high transmission rate that can lead to pandemics and impose significant burdens on healthcare and the socioeconomic system. Influenza is self-limiting and does not require treatment. The effectiveness of influenza vaccines has been demonstrated, especially in people with underlying medical conditions and those over 65 years. In reality, influenza vaccination rates remain low, especially in low - and middle -income countries. This study focuses on the effectiveness and safety of existing influenza vaccines; the impact of influenza vaccination on the elderly over 65 years of age and people with underlying medical conditions (cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, diabetes, immunodeficiency). The overview emphasizes the role and importance of influenza vaccination in people over 65 years of age and people with underlying medical conditions in vaccination practices, raising awareness of disease prevention vaccination.
