The objective of this study was to describe
the current status of electronic device use for accessing health information among older adults
in Hanoi in 2023. A cross-sectional descriptive
study was conducted, interviewing 600 older adults across six districts in Hanoi using a
structured questionnaire. The results showed
that television was the most commonly used device for accessing health information (80.3%)
and was also rated the most reliable (92.0%),
while smartphones had the lowest perceived reliability (76.6%). The most sought-after health
information topics included proper nutrition for
older adults (89.2%), chronic disease prevention (83.7%), and musculoskeletal conditions
(83.0%). To better meet the health information
needs of older adults in Hanoi, a specialized
communication program should be developed,
optimizing the use of television, integrating radio in rural areas, guiding older adults in using
smartphones for health information access, and
enhancing their digital literacy
