A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 275 healthcare workers at Dien Bien provincial General Hospital in 2021- 2022 to assess the effectiveness of several intervention measures aimed at ensuring healthcare workers’ knowledge on patient safety during the COVID-19 prevention period. The results showed that the average knowledge scores on topics such as patient safety objectives, the harms of adverse events, surgical and procedural errors, and causes of adverse events significantly increased after the intervention, with a p-value < 0.05. The percentage of healthcare workers with correct knowledge of adverse events increased after the intervention, with an effectiveness index of 43.7%. The percentage of healthcare workers who achieved general knowledge on patient safety after the intervention was 90.2%, with an effectiveness index of 64.3%. Healthcare facilities should enhance training and professional development, strengthen comprehensive treatment capabilities, and consistently focus on improving supervision skills, as well as preventing and controlling COVID-19 transmission.
