Knowledge and practices on scoliosis curvatures prevention among teachers at 8 khmer ethnic minority schools in 4 provinces in Mekong delta in 2021

The study focuses on the knowledge and practice of scoliosis prevention for students by teachers and related factors. A descriptive cross - sectional study was conducted on 200 teachers at 8 primary schools of Khmer ethnic group in 4 provinces - Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Hau Giang and An Giang from January 18, 2021 to February 26, 2021. Teachers with satisfactory knowledge mak up 83.50%, and teachers with adequate practice account for 52.00%. The study found a statistically significant association between the percentage of teachers’ passing knowledge and gender (male - female); face-to-face teachers and non-direct teachers, teachers with training in scoliosis prevention and teachers without training (p < 0.05). The study did not find a statistically significant relationship between general practice and general characteristics (p > 0.05). The study provides data on the percentage of teachers who have the right knowledge and practice to prevent scoliosis for their students. The results might help in creating solutions to the problem.
