Knowledge and practice of malaria vector control measures of residents in Pa Ve Su commune, Muong Te district, Lai Chau province in 2022

The number of malaria cases has increased in Pa Ve Su commune over the years. The survey was conducted in Pa Ve Su commune in October 2022. This study aims to describe knowledge and practice of malaria vector control measures of residents in Pa Ve Su commune, Muong Te district, Lai Chau province in 2022. The interview of 302 households showed that the average percentage of people/bed nets was sufficient for the resident in the village, but it was not enough in the fields. 59.93% of people did not know the cause of malaria transmission and 39.74% of people did not know sleeping bed nets to malaria control. The proportion of people using bed nets was high in villages and fields, accounting for 96.02% and 86.70%, respectively. However, there were still 3.98% and 13.30% of people who did not sleep in bed nets in the village and the fields. 95.70% of people chose bed nets for mosquito control. Therefore, it was appropriate to support bed nets for residents at the Pa Ve Su commune. Add bed nets for lacking households and repellent cream or mosquito coil to the households.
